Professionalism:

If elected, I will work to return the City of Mountain Home Government to a peak level of professionalism. This is something that is not only important to our citizens, but important for maintaining relationships with the Air Force, enticing new businesses to come to town, and cooperating with other local government entities such as Elmore County and our neighboring towns. Infighting between city officials should not be broadcast across the news, and official communications from/with the city via the internet should be professional, accurate, and ethical.

Transparency in Government:

I fully support a transparent government of, by, and for the people. I believe in holding our elected officials accountable when the need arises, but not in a way that is detrimental to the ongoings of the city. There's a time and a place to call out issues, and it's not on the daily in the Rants and Raves. Legislating should not be taking place online, and public comments shouldn’t be silenced. If elected I will endeavor to maximize transparency and accessibility of government operations to the citizens of Mountain Home.

Efficiency:

Efficiency is not a word often used to describe government, however if elected I will always work towards the most efficient solutions for the city. With my nearly decade of experience working in foodservice operations, I can guarantee that efficiency is at the forefront of my thought processes. Efficiency in government saves taxpayer dollars and gets projects done quicker.

Local Government:

I view local government as a very important process to pay attention to. It oftentimes is more relevant to the individual citizen than what happens in DC. While my business keeps me from attending as many city meetings as I would like, I do at times visit the Council Chambers in person, and more often view the livestreams and discussions online. I've stood up and spoke at meetings when legislation relevant to my family or business is on the agenda, a value my father instilled in me as a child when he would take me to Elko County Commissioner meetings.

Local Division:

A small but loud culture of division and negativity in town has been flourishing as the citizens seek somewhat-absent transparency and communication from City Hall, while simultaneously observing infighting within the city government. Your elected officials shouldn’t be picking sides as if we are back in the schoolyard, they should be working together for the betterment of the community. If elected, I will work towards repairing the relationships between citizens and city officials. There is always going to be some disagreements along the way, but the division shouldn’t run so deep that it tears down relationships, halts city progress, or alienates citizens and their faith in City Hall.
